Looking Back

  • Created an up-to-date school council display board.
  • Whole school assembly introducing our chosen charity for this year – The Guide Dogs Association
  • Informed parents with a letter about our chosen charity and collection points.
  • Created a collection and recycling area for mobile phones, foil, ink cartridges and stamps.
  • Voted for playground monitors.
  • Impacted on playtime games – doing research, investigating playground catalogues and funding and buying the new play equipment.
  • Decided on how to organise the playground into zones and equipment into boxes.
  • Created playground conduct codes and displayed them around the school.
  • Assembly promoting school suggestion box and update on guide dogs recycling.
  • Shades for the Day’ raised £201.77.
  • Total money raised for the Guide Dogs Association was £848.27. Fantastic!
  • Mrs Ball made school council suggestion bags to each class.
  • Investigated ideas for markings on the new playground surface in 2010, all classes providing ideas and plans.
  • Took part in the interviews for the new headteacher:
    Each class discussed questions they would like asked.
    Each representative had the opportunity to interview a candidate.
    The chairperson fed back to the Governors.
  • Investigating pupils feelings about the possibility of reinstating whole school breaks (including the need for buddies etc).
  • Investigating pupil ideas about our new building.
  • Fundraising implications for the above.

  • Hats for Haiti which raised £338.85
  • Blue Peter Send a Smile campaign where we sent 600 plus T Shirts worth nearly £2000
  • Met with the Chairman of the Governors to explain their work over the year

  • Meeting with the Governors and Headteacher to choose outdoor equipment
